Day 2:
By: Kurt Barnes
Scripture:
“‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’”
— Acts 1:8
Reflection:
As we continue our 21 days of prayer and fasting, let us focus on the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. In Acts 1:8, Jesus promises the arrival of the Holy Spirit as our source of power and strength. The Holy Spirit equips us to be His witnesses, boldly proclaiming the gospel not only within our immediate circle but also to the farthest reaches of the earth.
Recognize that without the Holy Spirit, our efforts can fall short. It is His power that invigorates our mission and enables us to serve effectively. Today, let us seek a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, inviting His strength and guidance as we commit to being witnesses of God’s transformative love.
Prayer Focus:
- Presence and Empowerment: Pray for the Holy Spirit to move powerfully among us, filling our hearts and minds with His presence. Seek His empowerment to navigate our daily lives and mission with purpose and conviction.
- Courage and Boldness: Ask for courage to stand firm as witnesses of the gospel. Pray for the boldness to speak truth and love into the lives of those around us, trusting the Spirit to work through us.
- Engagement in God’s Mission: Pray for an increase in Silver Creek Fellowship members actively participating in God’s mission. Ask for hearts open to serve, share, and spread the message of Christ with joy and dedication.
- Sending Served Empowered: Pray that God would raise up many from our church community to go forth and impact the world, whether locally or globally, with the love and truth of Jesus Christ.
Action Step:
Identify one specific way you can be a witness of the gospel this week, whether through sharing your faith story, serving a neighbor, or participating in outreach. Rely on the Holy Spirit for courage and guidance as you take this step.
Let our prayers today be a call for a deeper encounter with the Holy Spirit, empowering us to fulfill the mission that Jesus has entrusted to us. As each of us embraces our role as His witnesses, may the power of the gospel resonate through our lives and transform the world around us.
