Day 3:

By: Kurt Barnes

Scripture:
“‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.’”
— John 15:5

Reflection:
In John 15:5, Jesus emphasizes the crucial connection between abiding in Him and bearing fruit. Just as branches must remain attached to the vine to thrive, we too must stay connected to Christ to be effective in our mission to make disciples. This abiding relationship is the source of our strength, effectiveness, and ability to impact the world for His kingdom.

Today, let us pray for fruitful endeavors in disciple-making. Recognize that apart from Jesus, our efforts are in vain. By remaining in Him, not only do we receive the nourishment we need, but we also become vessels through which His love and truth flow into the lives of others.

Prayer Focus:

  • Effectiveness in Disciple-Making: Pray for increased effectiveness and fervor in making disciples. Ask God to work through us, cultivating an environment where spiritual growth flourishes.
  • Fruitfulness in Ministry: Seek God’s help in bearing much fruit, both in our personal lives and within our church community. Pray for manifestations of love, joy, peace, patience, and other spiritual fruits in our ministries.
  • Commitment to Discipleship: Pray for a renewed commitment to becoming disciple-making disciples. Ask God to provide opportunities and wisdom to invest deeply in the lives of others, fostering growth and maturity in Christ.
  • Student and Family Ministries: Pray especially for the student and family ministries at Silver Creek Fellowship. Ask God to redeem and guide the children and youth, raising them up to become His dedicated servants in the world.
  • Growth through Next Steps: Pray that attendees engaging in the Next Steps program would experience genuine growth in their walks with Jesus, receiving guidance and encouragement for their spiritual journeys.

Action Step:
Identify one person or group within your community that you can pour into this week. Seek God’s guidance on how to disciple and encourage them, fostering growth and faith in their lives.

As we pray today, let us cling closely to Jesus, trusting Him to empower and direct our disciple-making efforts. May our collective focus on abiding in Christ lead to a harvest of righteousness and growth, as we see lives transformed for His glory.
