Day 18
By: Kurt Barnes
Scripture:
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
— Psalm 90:12
Reflection:
Psalm 90:12 prompts us to consider the fleeting nature of our lives and to seek wisdom in how we spend our time. Understanding that our days are limited encourages us to live with intention and purpose, focusing on what has eternal significance.
Let this awareness guide us to align our actions with God’s eternal purposes, ensuring every moment counts for His glory. As we cultivate a heart of wisdom, we become more attuned to how we can make a meaningful impact for the Kingdom.
Today, let’s reflect on how we can use our time wisely, committing to live each day fully for Him.
Prayer Focus:
- Awareness of Time: Pray for a clear understanding that our time on earth is short. Ask God to help us live every moment for His purposes and glory, making each day count.
- Wisdom for Eternal Living: Seek wisdom to prioritize God’s eternal purposes over temporary pursuits. Pray for discernment in making decisions that reflect His will.
- Encouraging Spiritual Conversations: Pray that the events and challenges we face would open hearts to spiritual discussions. Ask God to empower our members to engage faithfully in gospel conversations with unbelievers, spreading His love and truth.
Action Step:
Reflect on your daily activities and commitments. Identify one change you can make to prioritize eternal purposes, whether that involves investing more in relationships, serving in the church, or sharing your faith.
As we pray today, may we embrace the brevity of life as a motivation to seek God’s wisdom in all we do. Let us commit to living each day with purpose and intentionality, allowing His eternal perspective to guide our actions. Through this focus, may we inspire others to also pursue lives that glorify God, leveraging our time for His Kingdom.
