the sun peeking between the leaves

A Poem By: Kurt Barnes

O Vine, my life, my strength, my all,
I cling to You, I cannot fall.
Your sap, Your Spirit, flows in me,
A constant source, eternally.

Apart from You, I fade and die,
Like withered branches, parched and dry.
No fruit, no life, no power within,
Just emptiness, the blight of sin.

But grafted in, I find my place,
Securely held by Your embrace.
Your love surrounds, Your truth sustains,
Through sun and storm, through joys and pains.

You prune, You shape, You make me whole,
To bear the fruit that blesses souls.
No strength in me, but all in You,
My weakness boasts Your power true.

Abide in me, and I in You,
This union deep, forever true.
Here is my peace, my joy complete,
To rest in You, my safe retreat.

Abide in me, and I in You,
This intertwining, life so new.
Your whispers guide, Your presence near,
Dispelling doubt, calming all fear.
